Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Designer to join our team in Birmingham. The Senior Product Designer will work closely with the Creative Director to bring their vision to life, creating clothing ranges that resonate with our customer personas. The ideal candidate will have a strong design background, lifestyle interests that resonate with P&Co’s identity, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team.

Reporting to the Creative Director you will be instrumental in defining the creative vision for collections alongside the CD, you will support the visual direction while offering up additional ideas and approaches. You’ll act as a project lead across multiple disciplines in collaboration with the Creative Director and Product Development Manager to deliver exciting products and improve existing ones.

P&Co is in a growth phase and this role will be integral in growing men’s, women’s and goods ranges at the right pace whilst maintaining our unique DNA, visual identity and quality.

You must be able to react quickly and multitask, keep up-to-date on design and brand trends, and collaborate with team members. This is a position for a quick-thinking creative with great organisational skills. 

- Work with the Creative Director and design team to develop clothing ranges that align with our brand vision and customer personas.

- Take ownership of the product design process from ideation to presentation, including sketching, prototyping, and creating technical specifications.

- Conduct market research and stay up-to-date with industry trends to ensure our products are on-trend and competitive in the marketplace.

- Develop mood boards, trend forecasts and colour palettes to present to the Creative director to initiate the design of new ranges.

- Ensure all product ideas capture P&Co’s unique DNA and translate into on-brand exciting products.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, production, and marketing, to ensure products are delivered on time and on budget.

- Develop stronger ways of working across teams to ensure the design and development of products is as efficient as possible.

- Providing mentorship and guidance to junior designers helping to nurture their growth.

- Participate in product development meetings, presenting designs and providing feedback on other team members' work.

- Use data and customer feedback to inform design decisions and make data-driven recommendations for future product development. 

- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field.

- 5+ years of experience in product design, preferably within the fashion industry.

- Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of design skills, including sketching, technical specifications, and prototyping.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally and managing a team.

- Strong knowledge of industry trends and consumer insights.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other design software.

- Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality products.
